Living in California means you get to enjoy some places that are great to visit all year long. But if you’re looking for a getaway, there are some choice destinations you should definitely check out while it’s still a bit chilly out.

Yosemite - California

Yosemite Park during the winter

Yosemite National Park

Nothing beats the crisp, fresh mountain air in the winter. Don’t worry about too much snow because it doesn’t snow a lot in Yosemite Valley, but if you decide to visit in the winter, you could get lucky and catch some light snowfall or see Yosemite Falls when it’s frozen solid. Some spots you gotta check out are the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias and Badger Pass.

Los Angeles, California

There’s never a boring moment in L.A. Between the museums, shops, and restaurants, you’ll have a full day of exploring and making memories! Check online to see if there are any specific parts of Los Angeles you think you’ll be interested in visiting. Maybe if what you’re looking for is some time under the sun, head over to the Santa Monica Pier or Venice Beach. If you want to go hiking, check out the wilderness parks in cities like Sierra Madre or Monrovia. If you are set on staying in the city, make your way over to Hollywood Blvd and do the Walk of Fame or explore the art museums like LACMA, MOCA, or the Broad in Downtown L.A. and then check yelp for some good eats after!

Mammoth Mountain

When you think of winter, you think of activities like sipping hot cocoa and playing outside in the snow. If that’s what you had in mind for your winter travel plans, then why not make a trip down to Mammoth Mountain? Mammoth is home to California’s highest ski peak, so you can count on it being an adventure worthy snow destination. If skiing is not something you think you’d be interested in, you can always explore the town of Mammoth Lakes for its gorgeous scenery and charming establishments!

This one is a no-brainer. After the holidays, you’ll find that the lines are shorter and the park is a little less crowded. If you can avoid going when it’s exceptionally cold or rainy, it should be nothing short of a perfect day. 💯👌

Santa Barbara, California

With its mild temperatures and coastal city vibes, Santa Barbara is a pretty neat place to hit up if you want to beat the winter cold. Take a walk through Shoreline Park or indulge in some of Santa Barbara’s sights by signing up for a bike tour. If anything, you should visit the Santa Barbara Zoo, tour the Old Mission Santa Barbara, and hit up the famous State Street to check out the shops and restaurants!

Your Kapi Apartment

Let’s be serious. The distance from your bedroom to your living room is a journey in itself sometimes. What better way to relax than with a plate of food and your favorite Netflix show? Or what about a good book? How about plugging in your console or logging onto your PC to play some games? Want to ramp things up? Invite your friends over and make it a party! Or what about if you want to get your chill on? Well, my most sincere suggestion would be to do all those things and more by yourself, but with all the blankets you own wrapped around you like a blanket burrito. #beststaycation

Start of the year with some good vibes! You don’t have to go out of your way to have an adventure! Go at your own pace and get some new experiences!
