Tired of discovering months old food in the back of your fridge? Or not being able to find your stuff because your roommates dumped all their groceries in the fridge at once? Well, it’s alright because those days are over now.
It’s a hassle to dismantle your fridge and clean it. You have to take out all the food, pull out all the shelves, the door guards, etc, and that can be a lot of work. Thankfully, someone had the ingenious idea of lining their fridge with plastic bottoms that can be removed for cleaning. With shelf liners, all you have to do is pull out the bottom, clean it, and put it back in. It’s less hassle for both and your fridge! #bless
A lot of people have said that putting fresh lemons in your fridge will help with making it smell good. But that only works if you have a supply of fresh lemons. For the rest of us, a simple fridge air freshener should do the trick.
Got a bag of salad and you don’t know how much longer it’s going to last? Or a Tupperware from your meal prepping that’s been in the fridge for a while, but you don’t know how long? Then invest in some colored bag clips and/or Tupperware containers so you can be in the know about how long your food has lasted in your fridge.
One sentence ago, it was recommended that you go get some color coded containers to keep track of your food’s shelf life. But if that’s not a problem you have, then forget about it. If you can’t stack multiple containers in your fridge, don’t bother. Instead, get a couple of glass mason jars. They work almost the same as your Tupperware containers (except if they have a metal lid and ring, they can’t go in the microwave). You can use them to store salad, leftovers, soups, smoothies, and etc. When you need to eat, just pour your food out onto a bowl or plate and enjoy!
It’s never too late to have a well-organized fridge! Save yourself the frustration of deciding whether or not your food is edible or not by changing a few of your organizational habits. Even better, see if you can work together with your roommates to make sure that all your food stays fresh and tasty!
