Breathing Exercises

Feeling stressed? Overwhelmed? Or just downright crummy? Take a deep breath. Exhale. Take another deep breath. Let it out. Repeat the process, preferably in a more relaxing setting away from your desk and computer.

Eat a snack

Do you have time to cook? When was the last time you ate? If your answers are “I don’t” and “I don’t know”, then you should probably eat something. Sure, chips and coffee are technically considered as “food”, but if you want to feel slightly better while you’re on that grind, maybe wash some fruit or munch on some granola bars. But no one is here to yuck your yum, so just get them eats!


If you don’t really care for meditation, that’s cool. This part isn’t really about sitting on the floor while pretending to be zen and chanting ‘ohm’ over and over (unless you really know how to use traditional meditation to stay zen, then that’s really cool!). Sometimes, you just need a mental break from doing what you are doing and think about nothing. Well, the easiest way to do that is to take a nap. But for those of us who need to stay alert and awake, the second best solution is to just put on your earbuds, sit back, and let the music take you (for 10-15 minutes). You’ll find that you feel less stressed and your thoughts won’t be as jumbled when you get back into your groove. Give it try when you can!

Staying Hydrated

Drink water! You know how the internet says you’re supposed to drink 8 glasses of water a day? If you’re always complaining about headaches and dizziness while you’re hard at work, drink some water. Most likely, you are just really dehydrated (but if symptoms persist even when you are hydrated, maybe go see a doctor).
