If you’re not too busy with life or you just need a break every now and then, then put on your sunglasses and get that sunblock ready because you’re about to have a good time this summer!
Take the scenic route! Road trips are the time to indulge in cheesy wanderlust playlists along the way and stop by quaint roadside diners! You’ll have a lot more fun if you make the trip with a few friends (preferably with at least one friend who is a good navigator). You don’t have to go super far or spend the night in a hotel/motel (maybe just down the coast or somewhere 1 hr away). If you’re just down for a chill summer day trip, just make sure you know where you want to go in order to maximize your travel time!
The Premium Stuff (for foodies)
If you know for sure that you’re going to go all over the place for the summer (for work, leisure, etc . . .), try to find the place that makes the best version of your favorite food. Do you love ice cream? Well, now is your chance to find out which place sells the best (or most unique) ice cream! Or if you are super adventurous, you can (if you can) try a new food place every time you go out to eat! Just make sure you check with yelp to make sure you know you’re getting your money’s worth!
Pick Up Something New
Have you never tried skateboarding before, but you would like to? Do you live close to the beach, but all you’ve ever done was sunbathe? What about that one book you keep telling yourself that you’d read soon, but it’s still sitting on your shelf somewhere? Summer is all about new adventures. If you want to step out of your comfort zone just a tiny bit, try engaging yourself in a new skill or hobby. It’ll be a good refresher for you and make your summer more exciting. Of course, if you’re not really down to go outside in the summer, you should definitely pick up that book or find a new series or game to binge on!
There’s a whole bunch of cool (and free) summer events going on around you! You just gotta pick a city and look up what’s available! Free summer concerts, local community events, and even neighborhood festivities are fair game for whoever wants to go! There’s the 626 Night Market in L.A, the Corgi Beach Day at Huntington Beach, and the U.S. Sand Sculpting Art Expo in San Diego! But no matter what city you are in, there’s always something do! To get the recommendations of what to do this summer, keep posted to our monthly newsletter!
Soak in that sun and let loose! Reality can take a backseat for a bit because you’ve worked hard all year, so treat yourself to a break! You deserve it!
